BELLEVILLE'S LEADING PLUMBER FALLS VICTIM TO DREADED BRIGHT'S DISEASE AT ST. ELIZABETH'S HOSPITAL
Henry Gantner, one of the best known plumbers and members of the Plumbers' Union in Belleville died in St. Elizabeth's Hospital in this city at 12:30 o'clock today, a victim of Bright's disease.
Mr. Gantner was in the employ of the Karr Supply Company during a period of more than 25-years enjoying the rank of plumber foreman and attained the age of 45 years at the time of his demise.
He was ill for more than a year and had the benefit of the treatment of the best physicians in the City of Belleville and St. Louis. They could not save his life.
He was a son of Victor Gantner and Caroline Gantner, nee Sattler. His father was a native of Lorraine and his mother of the Province of Baden, he himself having been a native of Belleville, born January 29, 1881.
He leaves surviving his wife, whose maiden name was Frieda Kolb, and two children, one son, Armin, and one daughter Doris. Besides his widow and children he leaves one brother, Nick Gantner of Belleville and four sisters, Mrs. W. J. Schlegel and Mrs. J. B. Herman of Belleville, Mrs. Lena Pilkington of Herrin, Ill. and Mrs. J. Considine of Troy, Ill.
He was a member of the Elk Lodge, a charter member of the Belleville Tuners and a member of the Belleville Plumbers Union.
The funeral will take place at 10 o'clock next Monday morning from his residence at 407 North High Street to Walnut Hill Cemetery.
