Lillie Maybeth Johnson Wilson passed away on Oct. 16, 2018 at St. Joseph Assisted Living with her beloved companion, Wanda Martin, by her side. She was born on May 5, 1922 in Wallowa, Oregon to Thomas Grover and Zora Burgett Johnson; her ancestors were among the early settlers of the Wallowa valley. She was a graduate of Wallowa High School and a member of the Wallowa Christian Church.
During WWII Maybeth met and married a young GI from Union parish, LA, Walter Wilson. Upon her husband's return from England at the end of war she moved to Linville, LA where she lived until Walter's death in 2010. She was an active 4-H volunteer; a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the La. Extension Homemakers Club, and the North Louisiana Quilters Guild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse of 67 years, Elmer Walter Wilson, Jr; her daughter, Margaret Wilson Robbins; and her 8 siblings.
Survivors include her children and their spouses; E. W. Wilson III (Verna), Nancy Harvey (Albert), Robert Wilson (Jeanette), Grace Brasher (Mel), Dorothy Donald (Hub); 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of St. Joseph Assisted Living, Aime Hospice Care and her excellent sitters, Wanda Martin and Trichell King.
