Funeral service for Mr. Wilburn Criss, 84, Tyler is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at St. Louis Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph E. Caraway, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery under the direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler.
Mr. Criss died November 28, 2016 at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital. He was born April 3, 1932 in Tyler and was a lifetime resident of Smith County.
He attended Jackson High School and Texas College. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at an early age and later became a member of St. Louis Baptist Church. Mr. Criss was employed at La Gloria Oil and Gas for 26 years, chairman of the Deacon Board at St. Louis Baptist Church, past president of the St. Louis Neighborhood Association, president of East Texas Baptist Association, Layman and served in the U S Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.
Survivors include his spouse: Delois Criss, Tyler; daughter: Gwendolyn Criss (Clyde) George, Kennedale, TX; brother: William Criss, Ft. Worth, TX; sister: Lillie Sims, Rowlett, TX; 1 grandchild, Cristopher Williams and 3 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 4-7 PM Friday, December 2, 2016 at Community Funeral Home of Tyler Chapel.
