Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, at Runge Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. Roosevelt Lodge 526 AF & AM will conduct masonic services. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa.
John H. Diedrich was born August 22, 1888, in Germany, and came to the United States with his family to Davenport. He married Freda C. Stoterau on May 7, 1913, in Durant. Freda died on December 3, 1964. He was employed as vice president and general manager of Blackhawk Foundry and Machine Company for 30 years, until he retired in 1950. He was a charter member, a past president and chairman of the Quad-City Foundrymen's Association, a charter member and past president of the Davenport Chapter of Izaak Walton League, the Davenport Sportsmen Club and the Davenport Club. He was also a member of the Crystal Lake Country Club, Roosevelt Lodge, the Royal Rach Masons of Iowa and St. Simon of Cyrene Coummandry Number 9, Kaaba Temple. He taught fly fishing at the Davenport Family Y.
Surviving are one daughter, Genevieve (Irvin) Dennie of Davenport; one son, Jack Diedrich of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and four brothers.
