E.E. DIEDRICH, OF WHEATLAND IS SUMMONED

Long-Time Resident of This State Succumbs; Funeral Friday.

Wheatland, Ia., June 26 - Ernest E. Diedrich, aged 52 years, a resident of this community 12 years, died at 5:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon in his home after a two weeks' illness following paralysis.

He was born Sept. 13, 1876, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, the family coming to this country when he was 14 years old, settling near Durant, where his marriage to Miss Frieda Wiebner took place March 6, 1901 and eight years later they moved to Lost Nation, where they lived eight years before acquiring their farm at the edge of Wheatland.

He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shrine.

Surviving are the widow, a son, Robert, a daughter, Mrs. Charles Patterson of this community, two grandsons, and four brothers, Henry and Hartwig, Durant; John and Claus, Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 o'clock Friday noon in the home with services at 1 o'clock in the Presbyterian church conducted by the Rev. George Bryant, Cedar Rapids. Burial will be in the Durant cemetery. (The Davenport Democrat, Davenport, IA, June 26, 1929)
