From The Monitor Review, February 20, 1975:

Clarence Orlando Viste was born January 2, 1904 at Lanesboro, Minnesota, to Ole N. and Caroline (Hauskey) Viste Jr.

He was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Lanesboro.

The family moved to Turtle Creek, North Dakota, and lived there until the death of his mother.

Clarence then came to Adams to live with the Knute Rudlongs on March 24, 1909.

He was confirmed at Little Cedar Lutheran Church in June 1918 and graduated from Adams Public School in June 1922.

He farmed in the Adams area for many years. On February 18, 1962, he was united in marriage with Alva C. Faust at Little Cedar Lutheran Church at Adams.

He passed away on February 6, 1975 at Memorial Hospital, Osage, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Alva, one daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Donna) Osmundson, Adams; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeffrey and Heather Osmundson; one foster sister, Miss Ida Rudlong, Adams; three brothers, Arthur, Austin; William Ferdinand, Indianapolis, Indiana; Irvin, Foley, Minnesota; three sisters, Miss Ruth Viste, St. Louis, Missouri; Mrs. Mable Larson, Mesa, Arizona; Miss Myrtle Viste, Austin; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Helmer, and his foster parents.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 10, 1975 at Little Cedar Lutheran Church, Adams, Rev. Wayne Quibell officiating. Rev. and Mrs. Quibell were singers, and Mrs. David Anderson was organist. Interment was in Little Cedar Cemetery with Paul Theobald, Ed Otto, Henry Hanson, Martin Pederson, Herman Jensen and A. G. Krebsbach serving as pallbearers. The Adams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
