Nellie D. Nicholas, 85 - Rosedale

Nellie D. Nicholas, 85, of Rosedale, Braxton County, West Virginia, passed away January 16, 2008 at her home.

Born in Gilmer County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Eva Barton Dobbins. She was a former resident of Windham, Ohio for 28 years. She worked with her husband in the logging business as a log truck driver. She loved to quilt and raised poodles for over 10 years. She was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Orval Nicholas; 4 daughters, Eileen Norman of Gandeeville, Elaine Cooke and Janice Haines both of Ravenna, Ohio, and Paulette Chenoweth of Kearny, Arizona; 2 sons, David Nicholas and his wife Charlotte of Weston, and Darrell Nicholas of Rosedale; 2 sisters, Rachael Summers and her husband Bruce of Sebring, Florida, and Ermal Smith of Ravenna, Ohio; a brother, Ernest Dobbins and his wife Ines of Garrettsville, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, January, 21 at Rosedale Baptist Church. Elder Larry Fisher will officiate. Interment will be in the Rosedale Cemetery.

Friends may call at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
