Born on October 30, 1952 in Erie to William R. and Mary S. Deems.
Christine grew to be a loving, compassionate and generously spiritual individual who touched the lives of all who knew her.
In 1971, Christine married her beloved husband, The Honorable N. Christopher Menges, and together raised three devoted children, Jonathan, Matthew and Kathryn Menges.
Through her unwavering faith and with the love and support of family and friends, she overcame many health challenges. Despite these challenges, she sustained a gentle and beautiful spirit both nurturing and kind. This spirit captured the hearts of those with whom she shared her life and its essence will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband, Chris; son, Jonathan and his wife, Jennifer and son, Matthew and his wife, Jamie. Their much loved grandchildren, Christian, Kalinka, Chelsea, Joshua, Hannah, and Wyatt will miss her deeply; as will her brother, James M. Deems; and sister, Carolyn J. Purvis.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents; a sister, Cynthia A. Kraft; a brother, Donald R. Deems; ever cherished daughter, Kathryn (Katy); and two precious twin grandchildren, Zachary and Jacob.
A member of the Providence Presbyterian Church, 1215 Church Road, York, PA 17404, it was Christine's wish to have.
A Celebration of Life service which will be held at the church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 24. There will be a viewing preceding the service, from 9 to 11 a.m. A private interment is planned at Lischey's UCC in Spring Grove.
