Linda Sue Skinner, 60, of Ottumwa died August 22, 2016 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born November 16, 1955 in Ottumwa to Thomas and Pauline Rupe Stice. She married John Skinner on October 7, 1978 in Ottumwa. A 1974 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Linda had been a resident of Ottumwa all of her life.

She had worked as a custodian for the Ottumwa Community Schools. Linda enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and family and being at home.

Surviving is her husband, John; a daughter, Jessica (Jason) Ewing of Unionville, IA; two grandsons, Blake and Blaine Ewing; her mother, Pauline Stice of Ottumwa; three brothers, Dave (Fonda) Stice of Unionville, IA, John (Tracy) Stice of Ottumwa, Frank (Tina) Stice of Omaha, NE; and a sister, Sue (Sonny) Greer of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Stice; a sister, Carolyn Roberts; three nephews, Scott, Chad and Chuck.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Jesse Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Serving Davis & Wapello Counties, 927 Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, IA 52501.
