Willie Ruth Miller Lake, 96, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at her residence.

Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Tandie and Lillie Sanford Miller, she was the wife of the late Jim Frank Lake. Mrs. Lake was a homemaker and a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, James M. "Monk" Lake (Margaret), Robert E. "Bob" Lake (Paulette) and Simmy S. Lake all of Batesburg, two daughters, Dorthy "Dot" Slider (Barry) of Spartanburg and Carolyn L. Minick of Saluda, three brothers, Ed Miller and Darrel "Snap" Miller both of Batesburg and Ray Miller of Leesville, a sister, Betty Oswald of Lexington, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lake was preceded in death by six siblings.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2016 at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Furman Matthews Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church social hall.
