Served in the U. S. Army. Retired in Oct 1982 at Fort Bliss, Texas.

Married Jacqueline A. Miller, daughter of Louis M. and Jacqueline H (nee Keebler) Miller, April 4, 1964 in Maryland while serving as an ambulance driver at Edgewood Arsenal.

Died of a heart attack at age 43 in Germany. Survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Also survived by sisters, Dorothy (Don) Arbegast of Jacobus, PA, Sonia (Norman) Shaffer of York, PA, Marian Piper of Newark, DE and two other siblings.

Preceded in death by his father, Leo A. Piper Sr, and mother Margaret Grace (nee Coy) Strickland, grandparents John Edward and Nellie Blanche (nee French) Piper and John Newton Coy and Mary Belle (nee Killinger) Robinson, all of Pennsylvania.
