I LOVE this site! As the years go by & I find myself strategizing road trips just to pass cemeteries. I have friends who think my interest borders on the macabre. My daughter tells me that when her friends are out shopping with their mothers, she is shopping alone, because her mother is in a graveyard somewhere! My son sees me on the computer & ask me if I'm looking up dead people again. I tell them that this is the hobby that brings me satisfaction. Cemeteries are quite peaceful & I love reading epitaphs. There is something reverent about this task. I feel like I am doing one more thing for this deceased but LOVED person. I've taken grave photos in the snow; stopping only when my fingers were too frozen to move. I've crunched through fall foliage to uncover long level markers. Braved summer sun so hot, the sweat literally covered the lenses of my glasses. I love getting 'edits', because it means someone is evaluating my work ~ aka MY MISSION.
