BLANKENSHIP, married female, born in Georgia, died aged 64 years in Wynnton, Georgia, of Bright's disease [= nephritis]; buried 13 FEB 1913 in Section 1, Lot 84, by undertaker [Charlton Lafayette] TORBETT, reference local death certificate #3651 - Sexton Emory JEFFERSON.

"AGED LADY DIED LATE LAST NIGHT: Mrs. W. H. BLANKENSHIP Died at 11:30 Last Night in Wynnton. // Mrs. W. H. BLANKENSHIP passed away last night at 11:20 o'clock after a long illness of a complication of diseases at her home in Wynnton. // Mrs. BLANKENSHIP was one of the pioneer women of Columbus, having been born in this city on April 21, 1845. She was a member of St. Luke Methodist church, and was always found doing the work of her church. // Had Mrs. BLANKENSHIP lived until April, she and her husband would have celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage. // The deceased is survived by her husband and three daughters, Miss Byrd BLANKENSHIP, Mrs. Edward WOHLWENDER, of Columbus, ad Mrs. T. B. MEADOWS of Atlanta; four sons, H. BLANKENSHIP of Jacksonville, Fla., E. L. BLANKENSHIP of Columbus, C. D. BLANKENSHIP of Missoula, Mont., and G. H. BLANKENSHIP of the U.S. navy. All of the children were at her bed side when the end came, with the exception of C. D. and. G. H. Mr. G. H. BLANKENSHIP is on his way to Columbus, but did not arrive before his mother's death. // The funeral arrangements were not completed last night, other than that it will be held Thursday." "AGED LAND WAS BURIED YESTERDAY: Funeral of Mrs. W. H. H. BLANKENSHIP Held Yesterday at 3:30 O'clock. // The funeral of Mrs. W. H. H. BLANKENSHIP was conducted from the family residence in Wynnton yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock and the interment was in Linwood cemetery. // The funeral was well attended and the casket was covered with floral designs sent by the many friends of the deceased. The services were conducted by Rev. O. B. CHESTER and Rev. A. M. WILLIAMS. Following were the pallbearers: Hines HOLT, Andrew SHEPHERD, Frank GARRARD, Park DEXTER, Henry COOPER and Frank LUMMUS. The honorary pallbearers were William REDD, Dr. R. P. GLENN, C. PRATHER, J. B. KEY, Rufus JONES, J. L. WILLIS, J. C. JACKSON and George O. BERRY."
