Taken in 1957, shortly before her husband's death. Vivian Beulah Thompson, born 24 Apr 1896 in Ozone, Johnson, Arkansas; died 17 Sep 1971 in Bend, Deschutes, Oregon. She lived in Klamath Falls from 1936 to 1970. She was the daughter of Methodist Rev. Byron Ashbel Thompson and Mary Jane Vaught. She married Allen Giles Golden 24 Apr 1923 in Mount Vernon, Skagit, Washington. She had one son and two daughters; 13 grandchildren, all before her death. As a young lady, she attended a teacher's college and soon left Arkansas to teach at a Bureau of Indian Affairs school for the Navajo Nation at Shiprock, NM. After her husband became sickly, she returned to teaching in the Klamath County/City schools. She eventually became a landscaper and gentlewoman farmer.

Beulah as a young girl in Mansfield, AR. Went to school to be a teacher. Taught in AR schools in Clarksville AR before heading out to Shiprock, NM to teach in a BIA sponsored Indian school. When friends suggested that she write to a friend of their friends, she did, but threw it away. They took it out of the trash and mailed it. The two were married about a year later in April 1923 in Mt Vernon, WA. She had a very hard life, with a premature son, with an ailing husband and no vehicle to get around. She retired as a substitute teacher and lived with her son and his family until she passed away in Bend, OR. Her husband, Allen Giles Golden, passed away in 1957 (Find a Grave #16852760)
