FUNERAL FRIDAY OF MRS.
DANIEL BEEBE, PIONEER
Died At Her Home On East Elm
Street In This City, Tuesday, Dec.
31, After A Usfeul Life Of 66
Years In This Township.
Another of the early residents of
Sycamore--one who was born here and
had resided here all her life, a period
of 66 years has laid down the burden
of this life and as the old year
was passing out, passed on to the reward
reserved for the faithful. Mrs.
Martha Minerva Beebe died at her
home 320 East Elm street on Tuesday
forenoon, after an illness of about one
week of a complication of diseases.
She was a daughter of Horace Haskins
and Polly (Bebee) Haskins, well
known pioneers of Sycamore township,
and was born in Charter Grove on
Nov. 22, 1852. There she grew to
womanhood and Was united in marriage
on March 15, 1868, to Daniel Beebe.
He died on October 7, 1916. Mr.
and Mrs. Beebe resided in Charter
Grove until about 12 years ago when
they removed to Sycamore where they
resided up to the time of their death.
Mrs. Beebe leaves surviving three
sisters and one brother: Adalia Welsh
of Charter Grove, Willard Bebee of
DeKalb; Anna Marie Babbler of Colvin
Park and Nellie May Powell of
Sycamore.
The funeral services were held at the
home this Friday, Jan. 3, at 1 o'clock
and at the First Baptist church at 1:30
o'clock p. m., Bev. F. L. Hanscom,
pastor of the Congregational church,
officiating. The interment was in the
family lot in Charter Grove cemetery.
