Mr. Curlee passed away Friday, July 29th after a long illness.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 1 and 3 PM at the church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Curlee was a native of Clay County and had lived in the Chulafinnee community of Cleburne County for over 50 years. He was a member and former trustee of Chulafinnee Baptist Church. Mr. Curlee was known for his kindness and generosity in always helping members of the community. He retired from the Alabama Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Oxford after 32 years of service.
Mr. Curlee was preceded in death by a son, Larry Steven Curlee; his parents, Jesse T. Curlee, Sr. and Ada Curlee; a brother, Jesse Curlee, Jr.; and a sister, Sarah Sparks; [and a daughter-in-law, Peggy Curlee].
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Katye Jo Curlee; three sons, Jimmy Curlee and Marc (Shelley) Curlee, all of Heflin, and Alan (Lori) Curlee of Alabaster; and one daughter, Pam (John) Caudle of Heflin. He was Poppie to nine grandchildren: Jason (Crystal) Bachus, Adam Curlee, Matthew Curlee, Justin (Meredith) Caudle, Alison (Lawrence) Comardelle, Emily (Scott) White, Ben Curlee (Shelby), Seth (Stephanie Rosser) Curlee, and Thomas Curlee; and four great grandchildren, Cody Curlee, Kaylee Curlee, Claudia Caudle, and Boaz Caudle. He is also survived by two brothers, John Curlee and Charles "Buddy" (Joyce) Curlee, all of Ashland; two sisters, Katie Gravette of Ashland and Aileen (Pete) Foster of Bridgeport; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Adam Curlee, Matthew Curlee, Justin Caudle, Seth Curlee, Thomas Curlee, Lawrence Comardelle, Scott White, and John Caudle.
