Funeral Services for W. L. Barbre to be held tomorrow

Funeral Services for W. L. Barbre, 66, for a number of years prominently indentified with the road contracting business in this section, who died Monday evening at 9 o'clock at his home, 102 West Seventeenth avenue, following an illness of one month, will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 at Hickory Grove church, conducted by the Rev. C. H. Farmer, pastor of the Methodist church at Star City.
Burial will be in the family lot in Hickory Grove cemetery in charge of Ralph Robinson and Son Mortuary.
The funeral cortege will leave the home, 102 West Seventeenth Avenue, Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock.
Active pallbearers will be: Garland Brewster, Mike Felly, W.R. Crawford, Jake Sadler, W.W. Gilbert, Felix Smart, Edgar Bush, W. C. Hudson, E. A. Hensley, R. A. Futch, C. A. Newton, Dr. T. W. Woodul and Dr. J. T. Palmer.
Mr. Barbre was born in Georgia on November 28, 1871 to Sarah (Sallie) Jolley and Joseph Barbre, as a child he moved to Lincoln County where he resided until 1908 where he moved to Pine Bluff.
He was employed by R. Carahan and W. C. Hudson as road contractor for a number of years and served as a member of the county road Department during the administration of Judge L. E. Cheek. He later returned to his farming interest of which he was very successful.
Mr. Barbre was a member of the Methodist Church at Star City.
He was preceded in death by his wife Emma.
He is survived by one son, Calvin H Barbre, who works for the county, three daughters, Mrs Bert Harrison, of Rison, Mrs. Alpha Helvey, and ,Mrs. William Murray of Pine Bluff, 15 grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
