Forrester Ison, 74, Brownstown, Ind., died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 1994 at his residence. He had been ill several years.

Born Dec. 24, 1919 in Kentucky, he was the son of Grant and Mary Stallard Ison. On April 28, 1944, he married Ila Vae Day in Kentucky, and she survives.

He moved to Brownstown from Cloverdale, Ind., in 1983 when he retired after 40 years as a school principal. He served with the Cloverdale High School, the Kingdom Come High School in Kentucky and Burney School System in Burney, Ind. He was also a Kentucky Colonel and a University of Kentucky Fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Patricia Ison, North Vernon, Ind., Kathy Pruitt, Hampton, Va., and Terri Wilson of Goldsboro, N.C.; three brothers, Glennon B. Ison, Flemingsburg, Ky., Harding Ison of Whitesburg, Ky., and Delmar Ison of Pinehurst, N.C.; seven sisters, Alva Frazier, Seymour, Ind., Gracie Boggs, Jeffersonville, Ind., Doris Day, Columbus, Ind., Avis Colson, Cincinnati, Ohio, Eveda Ison of Harrison, Ohio, Eula Gilliam of Wise, Va., and Lovel Day of Kings Creek, Ky.; and seven grandchildren.

One son, F. Winn Ison, and two brothers preceded him in death.

The services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Seymour, Ind.

Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 11 a.m. Monday until time of the service.
