Mattie (Hulan) Allmon was born on March 24, 1888 in Davidson County, Tennessee, the daughter of Thomas Hulan and Relda (Foster) Hulan. {It is noted that although her Death Certificate has her last name as Allman, her obituary has Allmon.}

She was married in 1920 to Albert C Allmon (1887–1969).

Living on James Avenue in Nashville, she was 50 years old and married when she died at home on December 31, 1938 of hypertension and chronic nephritis.

Survivors included her husband, daughters Bessie Lee Allmon and Josie Allmon, son William henry Allmon, sisters Addie (Hulan) Mayo and Maudie (Hulan) Reed and brothers Jonnie Hulan, Willie Hulan and Milton Hulan.

Funeral Services were held at Gorman Avenue Church of Christ, and burial was on January 2nd in Cleese Burial Ground.
