Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Beacham Wilkes, 56, widow of D. G. Wilkes who died Saturday night in a Macon Hospital after and illness of eight days were held Monday afternoon at the Rockledge Methodist Church with the Rev. Mr. King pastor of the East Side Methodist of Macon, the Rev Anthony Hearn, and the Rev. J. E. Townsend, of Dublin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home was in charge.
Mrs. Wilkes, a native of this county was a resident of Rockledge before moving to Macon two years ago.
Surving are son Cad Wilkes of Macon, a daughter, Miss Marguerite Wilkes, and three brothers, L. O. Beacham, Jr., C. K. Beacham, and W. O. Beacham all of Rockledge, and a number of nephews and nieces. She also had a large connection of other relatives in the city and county.
