Phyllis Maxine Llewellyn, 98, of Henderson, NV, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2016. She was born on August 21, 1917 to Parley Adelbert Allred and Elizabeth Burnside Allred in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. She married David Elmo Llewellyn on September 21, 1934. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, April 19, 1954.
She lived most of her adult life raising her family in Los Angeles, California. Eventually her health required her to move to Henderson, Nevada to live with her daughter and closer to other family members.
Maxine enjoyed reading, baking, cooking, sewing, and playing games. Maxine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and at the age of 79, Maxine served as the Young Women’s President for 3 years. Her greatest joy was serving others and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son: Frank Llewellyn (Barbara), Spring City, UT; Two daughters: Nancy Willets (Gary) Henderson, NV; Laura DeGeorge (Angelo) Parowan, UT. She is survived by 28 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren, and 41 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Elmo, and two daughters: Jacqueline Simpson and Virginia Myler.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Rock Church Building, 164 South Main Street Spring City, UT. Friends may call prior to services at the Church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Fountain Green City Cemetery, Fountain Green, UT.
