Carl came West with his parents and they all worked in the Seattle ship yards. At the age of 18 he joined the army and served with the Cavalry. He then joined the United States Air Force and served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He served 22 years and retired as a Master Sergeant.
In 1968 he worked as superintendent for the Roseburg street department. He enjoyed fishing, camping with the "Road Runners" camping group, and all sports, especially baseball. He will be greatly missed by all his friends, especially Norm Neal.
