Dennis has been a resident of Roseburg, since 1969. He was involved in all sports throughout school and graduated from Roseburg High School.
In 1982, he joined the National Guard and was deployed to England and served until 1988.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, hunting and fishing.
He married Shelly Holmes in 2002 to 2012.
He is survived by his father, Carl D. Holmes and his wife Betty Holmes; his sister, Carla Rowland-Shirley and her husband Don Shirley; his nephews: Garrett D. Rowland and Lucas A. Shirley.
