"The community received another shock Friday afternoon of last week when it became known that Harold Wright had passed away. He had come home Thursday from the Fox Hospital at Oneonta, where he had been a pneumonia patient several weeks. Harold Wright, son of Edgar and Amy Hollister Wright, was born in the town of New Lisbon, March 18, 1891, and lived there until 1916, when he went to Binghamton. In the same year he was united in marriage with Miss Charlotte Cowan of Towanda, Pa. They lived a number of years in Binghamton where he worked as a carpenter and contractor. His health began to fail and they moved to Garrattsville, where they lived for one year, before moving to Morris where they have lived six years in an apartment in the Wellman block. Surviving are the widow and seven children, three daughters and four sons: Mrs. Ralph Nessen of Davenport, Margaret, Florence, Marvin, Benjamin, Charles and Richard, all at home; a sister, Miss Rose Wright of Morris; three brothers, Gad of New Berlin, Harry of Laurens, and Frank of Edmeston. The bereaved have the sincere sympathy of the community in the loss of a kind husband and good father. The funeral was largely attended and brought many friends from a distance Sunday afternoon at Sloan's Undertaking Parlors. The Rev. Dr. Charles Vermilya, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated and burial was made in the New Hillington cemetery." [The Freeman's Journal (Cooperstown, NY), Mar. 8, 1939, Page 6]
