George Klinkhart. Sharon Springs lost one of its best-known citizens and businessmen yesterday forenoon when George Klinkhart passed away. He had been ill about a week with pneumonia, and Sunday a professional nurse was called from Albany. Her patient sank gradually and lived only several hours after her arrival. George Klinkhart was born in Canajoharie, July 30, 1845, and was a son of Amos and Frederica Lehlin-Klinkhart of Germany, who came to America in 1840 and located in the township of Canajoharie. When a young man George Klinkhart enlisted in the services of his country and took part in some of the memorable engagements of the civil war. At its close, he married Miss Louise Kineman of Canajoharie, and shortly afterward located in Sharon Springs, where for many years he has been one of its most progressive men. He conducted a large hardware store, in connection with which was a motion picture theatre. A dreadful calamity entered the life of Mr. Klinkhart when two summers ago his wife perished in a fire that started in his store and did great damage. Mr. Klinkhart was a man of warm and generous heart, loving to his family and kind and gentle to all. He was widely known and his acquaintances everywhere will hear of his death with deep regret. Mr. Klinkhart is survived by the following children: Edward, George Mrs. Joseph Esmay, the Misses ulu, Eunice and Carmeta, all of Sharon Springs; Mrs. Andrew Fonda of Fort Plain, and Mrs. Wm. R. Bradley of Schenectady. Also the following brothers and sisters, Augustus, of Washington, John and Henry Klink- j hart of Canajoharie, Mrs. J. A. Countryman of Rochelle. Ill., Mrs. Henry Filmer and Mrs. Robert Abelihg of Canajoharie. The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 pm. at the house. The remains will be placed in the Kineman vault in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in this village.
