O.L. McCarty, 81, pioneer farmer-rancher of Garvin County, passed away at 11:00am Tuesday at Robberson-Shirley hospital in Wynnewood.

McCarty came to Indian Territory when he was one year old and had lived in this area since that time.

McCarty at various times had lived at Elmore City, Pernell, Pauls Valley, and Wynnewood.

At the time of his death he resided at 203 East Gardner in Pauls Valley. Mr McCarty was a farmer/stockman for many years and retired in 1946.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Pauls Valley.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. E. J. Current and Miss Jaunita McCarty, both of Pauls Valley; two sons, Royal McCarty ad J.I. McCarty, both of Wynnewood; one brother, Jessie McCarty of Sinton, Texas; 17 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
