Julian Kappes, 72 of 818 S. Albany Avenue, was a son of Joseph and Helina Kappes and widower of Katherine (Collins) Kappes. His father was born in 1826 Germany or Prussia, his mother in ca 1840 Herkimer, Herkimer, N.Y., of German Parentage. In 1880, his known siblings were: Peter, Wm., Joseph, Mary, Emma, Jacob, and Michael, along with a niece and nephew, Luduek and Jeremiah Leubeck, born in late 1870's in Utah and Dakota Territories.
