Myrtle Marie Wood, age 92, of Eagle Rock, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
Mrs. Wood, daughter of Albert and Jettie (Roberts) Lincecum was born on November 4, 1923, in Advance, Missouri.
Upon graduating high school she moved to St. Louis with a girlfriend where they worked at a munition plant.
From there she moved to California to visit relatives and met her husband, Donald Clarence Wood. They were married for fifty-nine years when Donald passed away in January of 2008.
Myrtle enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Myrtle taught Sunday school, was a helper in Girl Scouts, and volunteered her time at her children’s school when needed.
After her children were grown she worked as a nurse’s aid for twenty-nine years.
Myrtle enjoyed her friends and family, making hooked rugs, working on puzzles and reading.
She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Roaring River Baptist Church in Eagle Rock.
Her family was greatly blessed because of her; she was the heart of the family. Until we are together again she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include one son, John Wood, of Eagle Rock; one daughter, Leslie Seabaugh, of Eagle Rock; five grandchildren, Aaron Seabaugh, Adam Seabaugh, Glen Seabaugh, Jennifer Clarkin, and Tanya Seabaugh; two great-granddaughters, Sydney Clarkin and Morgan Leyser; and one great-grandson, Ashden Seabaugh.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Roaring River Baptist Church and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890 Cassville, MO 65625.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Orville, and Emorey; daughter-in-law; and brother-in-law.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 27, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville, with Pastor Charlie Lauderdale officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
