Jettie was known for her cooking. Being the oldest living girl of eleven children and of those eight were boys, she learnt early how to fix meals.
After she left home, living on a farm there was always a big garden, lots of items to can and have ready for the family get togethers. In the summer she made blackberry dumplings. A creek ran alongside their property where the berry bushes grew.

FRUITLAND (Special) —Mrs. Jettie Lincecum, 79 years old, died at 2 Sunday morning at Cape LaCroix Manor in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Lincecum was born March 16, 1896, in Bollinger County.
She was married to Albert Lincecum who died June 20, 1961 They farmed in Cape County and lived in the Fruitland area since the early 1940s. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Advance.
Surviving: sons, Norman and Emory Lincecum, both of Cape Girardeau, and Orville Lincecum, Anaheim, Calif., daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Wood, Felton, Calif.; brothers, Clyde Roberts, Cape Girardeau, and Linus Roberts, Fresno, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Bessie Cobb, Cape Girardeau: four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers.
The body is at the Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson, where funeral service will be held at 2 Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Bill Ellis, pastor of the Lynnwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, and the Rev. Lester Butler, pastor of the Bethany Baptist Church, also in Cape Girardeau, will conduct the service. Burial is to be in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 Tuesday afternoon.
