[Facts in file: Veteran died March 10, 1845 in Highland County Ohio where he had lived for 14 years; veteran married in 1783 in Amherst County Virginia Sarah Cash, born July, 1763 or 1764, the daughter of Stephen Cash, at whose house they were married; the widow died December 20, 1749 in Highland County Ohio; the veteran and his wife were members of the Baptist Church.
On January 8, 1856 Nancy Tyler and Joannah Brown both of Highland County Ohio on behalf of themselves and their brother, Samuel Tyler of Boone County Indiana, said to be the only surviving children of the veteran and his widow filed for the pension due the widow.
In 1854, Ann Dormire, niece of Sarah Tyler, the widow, was living in Preble County Ohio and was then aged 79 years. The names of her parents are not shown.
Veteran was pensioned at the rate of eight dollars per annum commencing August 23, 1819, for service as a private in the Virginia Continental line for two years.
