Jake was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He enlisted in the Army in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1969. Jake worked at TK International as a welder for over 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #226 and the Akdar Shrine. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and traveling.
He was married on December 31, 2007 in Coweta, Okla.
Jake is survived by his wife; six children and spouses; five brothers and spouses; three sisters and spouse; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-granddaughters on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Jake was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Gladys Bowers, 1 son, Brian Bowers, 4 brothers, Joe, Sid, Sam and Donald and 1 sister, Doris Jean and 1 stillborn sister.
Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 PM. Funeral services celebrating Jake's life will be at 11 AM on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, Okla. with Rev. Lynn Moss officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, Okla.
