The daughter of Lynnwood Bertling & Beulah Lawmaster of Bixby, Oklahoma. She had three siblings, brother Lynn, and sisters Terri and Susie. She received her education in the Broken Arrow school system and graduated from Broken High School in 1966. She married Steven Lee Kennon in Wagoner County, Oklahoma on April 1, 1966. She and Jerry "Jake" Bowers were married in Sallisaw, Oklahoma on July 24, 1976. They had currently lived in Coweta, Oklahoma. She had four children, two sons and two daughters. She also had ten grandchildren. Peggy worked at Brokes Upholstery for 30 years. She was also a bus driver for Coweta Public Schools for seven years. She attended the First Baptist Church in Coweta. Her hobbies included shopping, playing bunko, traveling, painting, crafts and decorating for Christmas. She also enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Peggy passed away on December 8, 2005 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 57 years of age. Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Coweta, with interment following at Vernon Cemetery, Coweta.
