Thomas was the son of Leonard W. McCreery and Margaret Ann Trimble. He married Ramona McIntire on April 24, 1935. They were the parents of Sally.

Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Jun 19, 1974 - Funeral services were held for Thomas L McCreery, a former Storm Laker, June 11 at the Lake View United Methodist church in Sun City, AZ. Burial was in the mausoleum at Sun Land cemetery at Sun City. Mr McCreery, 64, died June 9, following a heart attack.

Thomas McCreery was born to Margaret and Leonard McCreery Feb 7, 1910 at Early. The family moved to Storm Lake in 1915. Thomas attended Storm Lake public schools and Iowa State University. After completing his education, Mr McCreery returned to Storm Lake, where he worked in the family dairy and produce business as he has done on his vacations all through his schooling.

On April 24, 1935 he and Ramona McIntire of Pocahontas were united in marriage. The couple moved to Des Moines in 1936 and here Mr McCreery became on of the founder of Dico Co. Mr McCreery retired from his business Aug 1, 1973 and in Oct of the same year, the couple moved to Sun City.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona; a daughter Sally McCreery of Ames; four sisters: Mrs Albert Becker and Agnes McCreery, both of Des Moines; Mrs Harold (Lydia) Lancaster of Grand Rapids, MI; and Mrs George (Ruby) Eginton of Storm Lake.
