Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Jun 8, 1983 - Memorial services for Ruby McCreery Eginton, 85, a resident of Storm Lake for nearly 70 years, were held June 7 in the Fireside Room of Lakeside Presbyterian church. The body was cremated.
Mrs Eginton died June 3, 1983 at the Methodist Manor.
Mrs Eginton was born June 8, 1897 on a Calhoun County farm, a daughter of Leonard W and Margaret Trimble McCreery. As a child she also resided in Alden, Marcus, and Early, where her father operated creameries. She graduated from High school at Early.
She attended Buena Vista and Morningside Colleges and taught in the Storm Lake public schools. In the 1920s and 1930s she was associated in the old Storm Lake Creamery and Produce Co with her father and brother.
She and George Eginton were married at her family's home on Cayuga Street, Sept 12, 1921. Mrs Eginton had been a resident of Methodist Manor for 5 years following the death of her husband.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, brother Thomas L McCreery in 1974 and a sister, Mrs Albert (Mabel) Becker in 1981.
Survivors include two sons: William L Eginton of Iowa City and Robert M Eginton of Minneapolis; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs Harold (Lydia) Lancaster of Grand Rapids, MI and Agnes McCreery of Des Moines.
