Hillard C. was the son of James and Matilda Hendrix. He had 10 siblings; William Rily, James V., Caledonia, John Bennett, George Washington, Allen Bethel, Jonas E., Ellen Darsula, Sarah Ann, and Matilda Elizabeth Hendrix.

His death certificate gives his birth date as 23 Sept. 1863. This is an error and should have been 1853.

1917 – Hilliard C Hendrix Death in Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas. His death was reported by Rachel's brother. Note that the dates on his death certificate do not agree. Also, his father's name was given as John Hendrix. The informant of his death was Jeff Eggers, possibly a brother of Rachel's.
