JOSEPH F. ACHESON, SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Joseph F. Acheson of Palm City, Fla., a former Amherst resident, was buried Saturday in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.

He died May 2, 2001, in Kresge Residence at Mitchell Campus of Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga, after a long illness. He was 72.

Born in Buffalo, Acheson was a graduate of Bennett High School and attended the University of Buffalo.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He had a long career as a sales representative, primarily in window replacement. In the 1970s, he opened Thermal Window Systems on Harlem Road in Cheektowaga. He operated the business until 1985, when he retired and moved to Florida.

His wife, Marlou J. Braun Acheson, died last year.

Surviving are five daughters, Debbie Williams of Rochester, Pamela Reiter of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Suzanne Ryan and Stacy Brennan, both of the Town of Tonawanda, and Lori Giordano of Palm City, Fla., and nine grandchildren.
