Elenius Boe
Elenius "Elly" Sylvester Boe, 75, of Deer Creek, Minn., died June 2, 2001, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minn.
Mr. Boe was born Feb. 23, 1926 in Litchfield, Minn., He married Gladys Thoring on June 14, 1947 in Sidneyl, Mont. In 1958 they moved from Montana to Deer Creek, where they raised their family. Mr. Boe workedfor Burlington Northern Railroad for 30 years. In 1990 they sold the farm and moved into Deer Creek. For the past several winters they havetraveled to Arizona. He was a member of the Rod and Gun Club, was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing cards, dancing and being with friends.
Funeral services were held June 5 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Wadena, Minn., wtih the Rev. Del Moen officiating. Pallbears were Jeffrey Birch, Christopher Marsh, Jason Boe, Jared Boe, Justin Boe and Trevor Boe. Honorary pallbearers were Kermit Kvignc, Bob Wierima, Roy Wendorf,Wallace Lorin, Gerald Zeisc and Earl Swanson. Interment was at the Compton Lutheran Cemetery in Compton Township, Otter Tail County, Minn.,with arrangements provided by Johnson Memorial Home of Wadena.
Mr. Boe is survived by his wife, Gladys, of Deer Creek; sons Byron (Pam) of Wadena and Brian (Bonnie) of Bluffton, Minn.; daughters Bonnie Birch of Deer Creek and Barbara (Sam) Hult of Akeley, Minn.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, one infant daughter and brothers David, Richard, Harlow and Charles.
