FIRST OF ALL - THERE IS NO MIDDLE INITIAL 'T' IN HIS NAME!
Philbert Wright first married Molly Sears and came from North Carolina in 1808.
After living a short time in Clark's Grant, he came to Washington County in 1809. The Wrights built a cabin, cleared the land, tilled the soil, and made a home for their family of eleven children. During the years the Wrights lived here, the cemetery was established. The records show that Molly Sears Wright was the first buried there.
History of Washington County, 1884
