PISGAH -- George Hampton "Hamp" Moore, 94, of Route 2, Pisgah, died Sunday at North Jackson Hospital in Bridgeport. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Jim Booth officiating.

Burial will be in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Peterman of Macon, Ga., and Juanita Hadden of Henagar; two sons, A.B. Moore of Pisgah and Rayburn Moore of El Paso, Texas; 15 grandchildren and several great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be today until 9 p.m. at the funeral home....................................................................Mr. George Hampton Moore is the son of Augustus Moore and Elizabeth Jane Kennedy of the Dean Chapel Community in Jackson County on Sand Mountain. His Grandparents are; Wyatt Moore and Elizabeth Brogdon of South Carolina and Gwinnett County, Georgia. His parents moved from Georgia to Jackson County, Alabama between 1898-1900. First renting a home in the Powell Cross roads area then later buying a farm in the Dean Chapel Community in Jackson County. His siblings are; Miss L. Mae Moore born 29 May 1890 Gwinnett County, Georgia died as an infant; The Rev. Mannis Herman Moore, Mittie Kylie Moore, Oscar E. Moore, Amie B. Moore, Gertie Moore, James Wyatt Moore, Garland "Buster" Moore, and Burma Aby Moore. "Hamp" Moore married Miss Tressie Geneva Mearse 24 July 1924 Dekalb County, Alabama. Together they had five children Austell Basom "A.B" Moore, Rayburn Artill Moore, Glen Dale Moore (1932-1994) Chattanooga, Tennessee; Juanita L. Moore married Mr. Robert Leon Hadden (1933-1978) of Henagar, Alabama...and Mary Elizabeth Moore of Macon, Georgia married Mr. G.F. Peterman, Jr. (Pete). Hamp and his family made their home in Pisgah, Alabama and Henagar, Alabama. At the time of his death "Hamp" had 15 grandchildren living. Mr. George Hampton "Hamp" Moore and his family are loved and missed by their family and friends. They will not be forgotten......
