Funeral services for A.B. Bascom Moore, 83, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar. Interment will follow in Henagar Memorial Park. Austell Bascom Moore is the son of George Hampton "Hamp" Moore and Tressie Geneva Mearse of Pisgah, Alabama Jackson County on Sand Mountain. His siblings are; Rayburn Astrill Moore, Mary Elizabeth Moore, Glen Dale Moore and a sister, J. Moore born in 1935. His grandparents are; Augustus Noah Moore (1865-1952) and Elizabeth Jane Kennedy-Moore (1870-1952). Emmet McDuffey Mearse and Mary Elizabeth "Mamie" Clardy-Mearse. Austell's parents were married on 22 June 1924 Jackson County, Alabama. Austell married on 19 August 1948 Hamilton County, Tennessee. At the age of 18 years he joined the United States Navy. Austell Bascom Moore is loved and missed by his family and his friends. He will not be forgotten.
