Harvey Wesley Freed, Winterset

Services for Harvey Wesley Freed, 62, Winterset, who died Aug. 3 at his home, were held Friday, Aug. 5, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Graveside services were held at the Sheller Cemetery in Grundy Center with the Rev. Arlin G. Claassen officiating.

Mr. Freed was born at Eldora Dec. 31, 1920, the son of Leo and Mable Danger Freed. On Sept. 6, 1940, he was married to Velda Sisson at Eldora.

He was a resident here the past 20 years and a salesman for the BB & P Feed and Grain company. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Stover Memorial Church of the Brethren in Des Moines.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Larry Lynn Freed of Winterset and LaVerne Wesley Freed of Seoul, Korea; daughters, Elaine Roccasecca and Janet Backsen, both of Des Moines; a brother, Lynn Dean Freed of Lake City, Minn.; a sister, Genevieve Reents of Wellsburg; and five grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother and a sister.
