Paul S. Applebach, 72, of Lancaster, died Sunday of natural causes at home. He was under hospice care. Applebach worked 34 years in the shipping and receiving department of the former RCA Corp. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. An avid reader of Scripture, Civil War history and Russian philosophy, he also enjoyed yardwork. He was the son of the late Taylor and Jennie Stover Applebach. He was married to Betty Applebach. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Paula A., married to Richard Clapp of Whitehall; a stepson, Douglas L. Ginder; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Romaine, married to William Flanagan, and Frances, married to Robert Wood, both of Lancaster, and June, married to Ray Kann of Willow Street; and a brother, James, married to Vada Applebach of Oregon. He was preceded in death by a son, Taylor R., and a brother, Varge.
