Regina Emelia Sunding was born in Vermland, Sweden, October 13, 1868, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Sunding. With her parents she came to the United States in 1882, and to Hyde county in 1887. She married Lars Andreas Larson on Dec. 10, 1887 in Douglas twp., Hyde, South Dakota. To this union nine children were born. They lived in the little house on the prairie for several years. She was active in church and neighbor gatherings. At these they tied quilts, sewed, knit and gabbed about the neighborhood happenings. In 1891 they established a permanent home in Douglas Township where they raised seven children and spent their remaining years.

A devoted wife and mother, a true friend and neighbor,always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in time of need, she was loved and respected by all who knew her
