Mrs. Gayle Turner, age 79, widow of Henry A. Turner of 206 South Seventh St., Lockhart, SC passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Union Medical Center.
Mrs. Turner was born in Lockhart, SC., on October 9, 1936 a daughter of the late Frank Cookson and Hazel Davis Cookson. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School and retired from Wal-Mart Deli after having worked for many years at Conso Products Company. Mrs. Turner was a member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Surviving are a daughter Trina Roark of Jonesville; two sons, Gary Turner and wife Judy and Timothy A. Turner and wife Sherri both of Lockhart; a brother Harold “Bud” Cookson and wife Carol of Union; grandchildren, Jeffrey Turner, Brandon Turner, Hannah Roark, Ethan Turner, and Zack Turner; great-grandchildren, Bentley Turner, Sterling Turner and Wesley Turner. Mrs. Turner was predeceased by a grandson, Travis Turner; two brothers, Talmadge Deal, James Deal, six sisters: Ruth Deal, Hazel Fowler, Faye Miller, Irene Rash, Betty Tice and Lavada Gaston.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Delos Blanton. Burial will follow at Lockhart Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Turner, Zack Turner, Ethan Turner and Brian Fowler.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
