Hazel Deal Cookson, 76, of 9 S. Fourth Street, widow of Frank D. Cookson, died Tuesday in Wallace Thomson Hospital.
Native of Spartanburg County; daughter of the late Prichard and Corrie Pryor Davis; a Methodist.
Surviving: daughters, Mrs. Irene Rash, Mrs. David Gaston of Chester, Mrs. Harrison Fowler of Union, Mrs. Berry Lee Miller of Ft. Mill, Mrs. Carl Tice and Mrs. Henry Turner of Lockhart; sons, Talmadge and James Deal of Lockhart, Harold Cookson of Union; sisters, Mrs Sussie Walker and Mrs. Julius Candler of Lockhart; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services 3 Thursday at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church by Revs. David Hutchinson, James A. Ashley and Joe Bridges; burial in Union Memorial Gardens.
Pallbears: Edward Sealy, Alex Davis, Burt Walker, Cecil Candler, Marion Walker and Denver Candler.
Body is at home of a daughter, Mrs. Carl Tice, S. Sixth Street, Lockhart, after 11 a.m. today; in church at 1:30 Thursday.
