Mr. Carmen Clifton Benson, age 90, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016. Interment will be in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Benson was a native of Buford, GA and had lived in Milledgeville since he was 13. He retired from the Baldwin County Board of Education after 40 years, enjoyed working and listening to music. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Sandersville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Byrd Clifton Benson and Letha Bagwell Benson; brothers, Mac Benson and Myron Benson; sisters, Annelle Ivey, Dolores Tribble, Christia Benson, Burma Benson and Pauline Benson.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Hatchett Benson; children, Christy Bates, Ansan Bates and Leanne Hallmark; grandchildren, Rain Jones, Daris Moon, Scout Moon, and Lily Anne Hallmark; brother, Lyman (Phyllis)Benson, all of Milledgeville.
