Bill was born on October 20th 1925 in Ferrisburgh, Vt., he was the son of Thaddeus "Thadd" Benjamin and Roseanna A. (Hamel) Field.
He grew up on the family farm in Ferrisburgh, Vt., he was the youngest of 11 children.
His early education was at Middle Brook School and later Vergennes High School.
In addition to working on the Family Farm, Bill was also an Auto Mechanic and served in the US Army.
After his honorable discharge in 1950, he returned home, and married Beverly Anne Hawkins on September 30th 1950 in Alburgh, Vermont. They celebrated 65 years together.
Bill was later employed at CVPS, where he served as a Lineman for 40 years.
He was the proverbial "jack of all trades", and this showed in numerous self-taught skills that he acquired, such as carpentry, auto mechanics, and electrical.
After retiring, he kept busy by working on cars in his garage, and restoring his antique Farmall tractor.
He was predeceased by his parents, seven brothers; Thomas B. Field in 1983, Howard Homer Field on February 6th 1976, Mark Thad Field on June 2nd 1964, Benjamin A. Field in 1963, Harold "Cap" Kenneth Field on June 7th 1982, Charles D. Field on November 7th 1978, and Robert Eugene Field on September 5th 2004, and three sisters; Roseanna "Rose" Mary (Field) Bodette on June 21st 1980, Harriette Hamel (Field) Choiniere on December 7th 1998, and Ruth Elizabeth (Field) Little on February 12th 1998.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 16th 2016 at the Gage Cemetery in Ferrisburgh, Vt.
