Per his death certificate found on Ancestry.com: he was a son of George Elmore Mayers and Katie Owens and the husband of Georgia Weed Mayers. He was a carpenter in building construction. He resided in Nansemond County and died at 801 W. Washington St. in Suffolk. The informant was Mrs. C. W. Bailey of Wilmington, N. C.
