Mr. Barnes, age 62, died April 7, 2003. Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Rae Barnes, He is the son of the late James H. and Dorothy Barnes. He is survived by son, Jimmy Barnes; daughters, Angela Judd, Linda Barnes; grandson, Travis Ray Barnes; nieces, Amandea Shannon, Cynthia Shannon; nephew, Johnny Clark; brother-in-law, Eldon (Buzzy) Shannon; sister-in-law, Vicky Shannon. Mr. Barnes was a retired contractor with more than 30 years of service. He was born and raised in Williamson Co., with a strong sense of family, that encouraged and developed country values and ethics that carried throughout his life. He spent the rest of his residence in East Nashville, where he will be sadly missed by close friends and associates. He was a kind, sincere and devoted man, whose smiling face and sense of humor brought joy to those he touched. Visitation will be Thursday, April 10, 12-8 p.m. Service will be Friday, April 11, 1 p.m. in the chapel of Phillips-Robinson,2707 Gallatin Rd.
