Suggested edit: Charles Herbert Herron, the son of Carl E. and Gertrude Shafer Herron, was born in York County, Nebraska on February 22, 1916. His death occurred at Omaha, Nebraska on February 15, 1981 at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 22 days.

In 1929 the family moved to the Marquette community, residing there until 1931, when they moved to Aurora. He received his education in the public schools in the vicinity where his family resided.

During World War II he served in the United States Army.

For several years he was employed in Baehr's Red & White Grocery and for the past several years he had been self employed as a sand and gravel contractor. In December of 1980 he entered the Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk.

His father, one sister Mrs. Letabelle Weedin and two brothers, Gyle and Warren Herron had preceded him in death.

Those who survive are his mother, Gertrude Herron; three sisters, Mrs. LaVerne Bottorf of Colusa, California, Mrs. Roberta Vetter of Aurora and Mrs. Ramona Johnson of Tempe, Arizona and other relatives and close friends.
